Welcome to ICANN 2024

The 33rd International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks.
A conference of the European Neural Network Society.

The 2024 edition of the ICANN will be organized by the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research (IDSIA USI-SUPSI) in Lugano, Switzerland in collaboration with AIDD and AiChemist Horizon MSCA projects.

Conference venue: USI-SUPSI Campus Est, Via la Santa 1, 6962 Lugano-Viganello, Switzerland

Conference dates: September 17 to September 20, 2024. 

The ICANN 2024 will be organized as an in-person event. We thank all presenters for traveling to Lugano and joining the conference, in order to foster the professional exchange between the participants. 

Lugano is located in beautiful Ticino, at the foot of the Swiss Alps. The conference venue is part of the Università della Svizzera italiana  and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, thus the participants will enjoy close integration into campus life, as well as a location within walking distance to city center, lake shore, a large choice of hotels, and several major attractions of the city.  We are in the heart of Europe, with excellent travel connections to all major destinations, and are looking forward to welcoming you!

Instructions for authors

The ICANN features three conference tracks, namely Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Bio-inspired Computing, and an Application Track. We also expect to feature several workshops and special sessions which are dedicated to specific topics. For a detailed overview,  see the Conference topics.

The deadline for the submission of full papers is  March 15, 2024 March 25, 2024 (postponed). For further information about important dates, as well as registration and traveling information, please stay tuned to this website!

Conference proceedings are published by Springer in Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

Workshop and special session extension

March 31, 2024
Dear authors, we would like to announce that the  AI in Drug Discovery AIDD and Special session on Neurorobotics have extended their deadlines to 15.4.2024. For AIDD please send your abstracts directly to icann2024@ai-dd.eu with subject: “ICANN2024 Abstract submission for AIDD workshop”. For Neurorobotics special session please send the submissions to icann2024@terais.eu.

Final Deadline for Updates of Submitted Papers

The paper submission for the ICANN 2024 will close on March 25, 2024, 23:59 anywhere on earth. However, we will allow updates for papers which have been submitted until March 29, 2024, 23:59 anywhere on earth. Please note that this final deadline will not be extended any more.

Announcing the Call for Workshops and Special Sessions

We invite prospective organizers to submit Workshop and Special Session Proposals. Special Sessions focus on specific topics within the general scope of the conference. Workshops have the goal to showcase specific methods and applications to the general conference audience. The call deadline is February 1, 2024. More info in the call subpage.
