W1. 1st International Workshop on Reservoir Computing
(RC 2019)

Workshop homepage
Description: Reservoir Computing (RC) is a leading edge paradigm for the design of efficiently trainable Recurrent Neural Network models. The first International Workshop on Reservoir Computing will bring together researchers to discuss the state-of-the-art and open challenges for the field of RC, in all its declinations. These include, but are not limited to, new models of Echo State Networks and Liquid State Machines, non-conventional hardware implementations, new emerging paradigms (e.g., conceptors), extensions of RC to complex streams of data, hybrids of deep and shallow models, modeling of neuronal dynamics, and many more. The workshop provides an open forum for researchers to meet and present recent contributions and ideas in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
Potential topics of interest for the workshop include (without being limited to) the following:

  • Echo State Networks, Liquid State Machines
  • Theoretical analysis of Reservoir Computing
  • Hybrids of fully-trained and RC models
  • Deep reservoir models
  • Reservoir Computing for structured domains (trees, graphs, networks, …)
  • Emerging paradigms of computation inspired to RC
  • Time-delay Reservoir Computing
  • Neuromorphic computing and Non-conventional hardware implementations of RC
  • Reservoir Computing in Neuroscience
  • Novel application fields for the RC paradigm
