Special Session Guidelines
- Special Sessions focus on well-defined topics within the scope of the conference and aim to provide a forum for in-depth discussion on state-of-the-art research.
- Duration: Same as standard sessions (up to 2 hours).
- Timeline: Follows the same format and deadlines as regular conference papers.
- Paper Format: Up to 12 pages, adhering to ICANN 2026 regular paper rules.
- Review Process: Papers undergo the standard peer-review process. Accepted papers will be included in the ICANN 2026 proceedings.
- Session Chair: At least one of the organizers must attend ICANN 2026 and chair the session.
- Paper Submission: Submissions to Special Sessions will be managed through the CMT system. Authors wishing to submit a paper should access the submission portal at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/ICANN2026 and select the track “ICANN2026.” During the submission process, authors must select the appropriate Special Session as the Primary Subject Area in the submission form to ensure the correct assignment of the paper to the intended session.

Workshop Guidelines
- Workshops offer a broader scope than Special Sessions, showcasing specific methods, applications, or emerging topics to the wider conference audience.
- Paper Length: Submissions must adhere to the ICANN 2026 regular paper format and rules. Workshops may also accept alternative submission types (e.g., extended abstracts). Please refer to each specific workshop webpage for details on the accepted formats.
- Review Process: Papers undergo the standard peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the ICANN 2026 Workshop Proceedings.
- Workshop Paper Submission: Workshop submissions are managed through the CMT system under the dedicated “Workshops” track. Authors wishing to submit a workshop paper should access the submission portal at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/ICANN2026 and select the “Workshops” track. During the submission process, authors must select the appropriate workshop from the list provided in the submission system. Please ensure that the correct workshop is selected, as each workshop is managed and reviewed independently.
