Application Information

Lithuania is a member of the Schengen area. Check the links below to determine if you need a visa to enter Lithuania:

VISA Letter of Invitation

Letters of invitation to ICANN 2025 are only available for a paid in-person registrations of accepted publication authors. The ICANN Organizing Committee can only issue visa invitation letters to participants from countries where a Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate, or an official representative authority (via another country’s consulate) is actively operating and accepting visa applications on behalf of Lithuania.

If a participant’s country does not have an operational Lithuanian diplomatic mission, or if the designated representative consulate (e.g., through agreements with other countries) has temporarily suspended services, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to issue a visa invitation letter in such cases.

We strongly advise all prospective participants to:

  1. Check the status of Lithuanian embassies, consulates, or representative consular services in their country or region before requesting a visa invitation letter.
  2. Contact the nearest operational consular office to confirm visa processing possibilities.

If your visa appliction is denied

1. Registration Requirement for Paper Inclusion in Proceedings

  • IMPORTANT:
    For a paper to be included in the official ICANN 2025 Conference Proceedings, at least one author must complete the registration process by the registration deadline, regardless of attendance.
  • Even if none of the authors are able to attend the conference in person, registration is mandatory for the paper to be published in the proceedings.
  • Papers without a corresponding registration will be excluded from the conference proceedings.
2. Cancellation Policy
  • The registration cancellation deadline is June 21, 2025.
  • Registrations canceled on or before June 21, 2025, will receive a full refund.
    Refunds will be issued to the original credit card used during registration and may take up to 10 business days to appear on your statement.
  • After June 21, 2025, no cancellations or refunds will be possible under any circumstances.

3. Non-Transferability of Registrations
  • All registrations are strictly non-transferable.
  • Each registration is directly linked to:
    • Immigration and visa invitation documents
    • Tax documentation
    • Credit card transactions
  • For these legal and administrative reasons, registrations cannot be transferred to another individual.
