WHAT DOES ENNS USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR?

ENNS processes your personal data for the purpose of:
– managing your membership and registration to the yearly ICANN conference;
– sharing with you upcoming events and deadlines of interest for ENNS members;
– sharing with you events organized by ENNS itself;
– sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support,
and administrative messages;
– interacting with ENNS members, such as to respond to your comments, questions and requests.
– offering discounts at other societies (e.g., INNS) and events, in this case, for those who want to benefit of the discounted events, ENNS secretary shares confirmation about payment of ENNS membership to execute the discount agreement.

HOW LONG WILL ENNS KEEP YOUR DATA?

ENNS will keep your personal data throughout the validity of your
membership with the society. Once the membership is finalized, ENNS will keep your personal data blocked during the statutory limitation periods indicated by the law, and will then destroy your data.

TO WHOM WILL ENNS COMMUNICATE YOUR DATA?

ENNS will not transfer your personal data to third parties, unless it is bound to do so by a law or if you have previously agreed to do so with ENNS. As example of the later, ENNS will share payment confirmation with other societies (e.g., INNS or similar societies) of those members interested in possible discounted participation in conferences and/or other events, or other similar benefits related with their ENNS membership.

In order to be able to provide you with an adequate service and manage your membership, you can find below a list of categories of companies that process your data on behalf of ENNS as part of the provision of services it has contracted.

ENNS also informs that, for the same purpose as indicated in the
previous paragraph, certain companies that provide services to ENNS could access your personal data (international data transfer). These transfers are made to countries with a level of protection comparable to that of the European Union (European Commission adaptation decisions, standard contractual clauses as well as certification mechanisms).

WHAT ARE YOU RIGHTS WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR DATA TO ENNS?

– Access: You can check your personal data included in ENNS’ files by asking for them.
– Rectification: You can modify your personal data when it is inaccurate.
– Erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data. It will imply canceling your membership with the society.
– Object: You can request that your personal data is not processed.
– Restriction of processing: You can request limitation on the processing of your data in the following cases:
* While checking your dispute about the accuracy of your data.
* When the processing is illegal, but you oppose to the deletion of
your data.
* When ENNS does not need to process your data but you need them in order to exercise or defend your claims.
* When you have opposed the processing of your data for the purpose of fulfilling a mission that is in the public interest or to satisfy a legitimate interest, while verifying whether the legitimate reasons for the processing prevail over yours.
– Data portability: You can receive the personal data that you gave to ENNS in electronic format and you can transfer them to another entity.

In order to exercise your rights, accompany your request with your
contact details and by contacting ENNS via postal or electronic mail
addresses. There is no cost to exercise these rights.
