{"id":329,"date":"2015-12-17T10:43:09","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T10:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icann2016.org\/?page_id=329"},"modified":"2019-11-25T14:59:29","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T12:59:29","slug":"call-for-papers-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/e-nns.org\/icann2019\/call-for-papers-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p> 28th Annual Conference on Artificial Neural Networks <br>Munich, Germany, 17 &#8211; 19 September 2019<strong><br>\u00a0Special event<\/strong>:\u00a0BIGCHEM\u00a0(<a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/b\">http:\/\/b<\/a><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/igchem.eu\">igchem.eu<\/a>) final\u00a0meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The  International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks (ICANN) is the  annual flagship conference of the European Neural Network Society  (ENNS).&nbsp;<br>In 2019 the Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen &#8211; German  Research Center for Environmental Health GmbH (HMGU) and the Technical  University of Munich (TUM) organise the 28th ICANN Conference from&nbsp;the 17th to&nbsp;the&nbsp;19th&nbsp;of&nbsp;September 2019 in Munich, Germany, together with the &#8220;Big Data in Chemistry&#8221; Marie&nbsp;Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Innovative Training Network&nbsp;European Industrial Doctorate project&nbsp;(BIGCHEM).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONFERENCE TOPICS<\/strong><br>ICANN 2019 is a dual-track conference featuring tracks in&nbsp;<em>Brain Inspired Computing<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Machine Learning and Artificial Neural Networks<\/em>,  with strong cross-disciplinary interactions and applications. All  research fields dealing with Neural Networks will be present at the  conference. A non-exhaustive list of topics includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li class=\"\">Machine Learning:&nbsp;&nbsp;Deep Learning,&nbsp;Neural\n Network Theory, Neural Network Models, Graphical Models, Bayesian \nNetworks, Kernel Methods, Generative Models, Information Theoretic \nLearning, Reinforcement Learning, Relational Learning, Dynamical \nModels&nbsp;Recurrent Networks.<\/li><li class=\"\">Brain\n Inspired Computing: Cognitive models, Computational Neuroscience, \nSelf-organisation, Reinforcement Learning, Neural Control and Planning, \nHybrid Neural-Symbolic Architectures, Neural Dynamics.&nbsp;<\/li><li class=\"\">Neural\n Applications for: Bioinformatics, Biomedicine, Intelligent Robotics, \nNeurorobotics, Language Processing, Image Processing, Sensor Fusion, \nPattern Recognition, Data Mining, Neural Agents, Brain-Computer \nInteraction, Neural Hardware, Evolutionary Neural Networks.<\/li><li class=\"\">Special session (BIGCHEM):&nbsp;Big Data analysis in chemistry,&nbsp;&nbsp;chemoinformatics, use of&nbsp;deep learning to predict molecular properties, drug-discovery, modelling and prediction of chemical reaction data,&nbsp;synthetic route prediction,&nbsp;structure generation,&nbsp;molecular&nbsp;dynamics simulations and quantum chemistry.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CALL FOR CONTRIBUTED SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS<\/strong><br>All  scientific communications presented at ICANN 2019 will be reviewed and  scientifically evaluated by a panel of experts. The conference will  feature three categories of communications:<br>&#8211; oral communications (15&#8217;+5&#8242;)<br>&#8211; poster communications<br>&#8211; demonstration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for Special Sessions: <\/strong><br>ICANN2019  organizers cordially invite internationally recognised experts to  organise Special Sessions within the general scope of the  conference.&nbsp;Special Session&nbsp;Proposal request should be&nbsp;sent to <a class=\"\" href=\"mailto:icann2019@bigchem.eu\">icann2019@bigchem.eu<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for Papers:&nbsp;<br><\/strong>Authors willing to present original contributions in either oral or poster category may submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li> A <strong>full paper<\/strong> of <strong>10-12 pages<\/strong> to&nbsp;be published in Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series with individual DOI<\/li><li><strong>Short articles<\/strong> (extended abstracts)&nbsp;of a <strong>maximum length of&nbsp;4 pages<\/strong> to&nbsp;be published in Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Such articles will not be made available for indexing.  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The  number of oral slots is limited.&nbsp; In case the number of requested oral  presentations is larger than the available slots the ICANN scientific  committee will select which papers will be reassigned to a poster  session.&nbsp; This selections will be based on the coherence of the  programme and is totally independent of the category of submission (full  journal, proceedings paper, extended abstract). Submission of communications will be online. More details will be made available soon on the conference website (<a href=\"https:\/\/e-nns.org\/icann2019\/submission\/\">Submission page<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT DATES<\/strong><em> <\/em><br><a href=\"https:\/\/e-nns.org\/icann2019\/important-dates\/\">Important dates<\/a> on the ICANN website.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BEST PAPER AWARDS<\/strong><br>ENNS  will sponsor a maximum of four best paper awards, two in the Brain  Inspired Computing track (one poster and one oral communication) and,  analogously,&nbsp; two in the Machine Learning Research track.
